Bring visitors back to your site

If you have been using Google AdWords' remarketing facility then you'll know how effective it can be.

But the key is in the segmentation - the closer you can target your remarketing campaigns to the visitors actual needs the better.

To achieve this you needed to get very cute with your remarketing lists - including some lists and excluding others to build combination lists of targeted visitors.

No more! Google have introduced a fabulous improvement to remarketing with the introduction of url targeting. The principle is simple. Place one "master" code snippet on all your site pages and build a master list. Then use segments of that list based upon the urls on your site that a visitor reached.

So - you sell blue widgets and red widgets, each with their own web page - you can run one remarketing campaign for anyone who visited the blue widget page and another for anyone who visited the red widget page - or - run a single campaign to anyone who got to any of your widget pages - red or blue. Oh - and while your at it - why not exclude anyone who got to your purchase confirmation page - after all, you don't really need to advertise a product to someone who just bought - you can market to them in another way.

If you haven't experienced the power of remarketing - you should. It can be a very effective way of turning lost visitors into converted customers.
